dev-util/cvsnt-2.5.04.3510.ebuild [bump]

Friday, August 7th, 2009

A new stable version of cvsnt has been announced today. I have bumped my gentoo ebuild for cvsnt.

As always, get my ebuilds for cvsnt into your local-portage tree using rsync as follows:

# rsync -rztp --delete rsync://rsync.omz13.com/local-portage/dev-util/cvsnt /usr/local/portage/dev-util

Then to install, do the usual:

# ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge cvsnt

Enjoy!

dev-util/cvsnt-2.5.04.2471-r4.ebuild

Thanks to some help from Sebastian Schuberth, the ebuild for CVSNT has had a few tweaks and should now happily work with the latest version of Gentoo’s Portage without any of those pesky QA warnings appearing (i.e. it will now successfully emerge the package). As always, get my ebuilds for cvsnt into your local-portage tree using rsync as follows:# rsync -rztp --delete rsync://rsync.omz13.com/local-portage/dev-util/cvsnt /usr/local/portage/dev-util

some of the cvsnt dudes hook up in A’dam

Sunday, March 11th, 2007

Back in early February, a few of the dudes from march-hare (of cvsnt fame) were flying back from a meeting in Spain to the UK and the USA. Now, since this meant that they would be flying via Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, this was a great opportunity to meet up and say hello over some koffee en gebak during their brief stopover. So, after years of knowing each other online, we finally met in real life. The dudes finally meet.On the left is Herko from the xoops project; in the middle is Glen Starrett; and I’m on the right. Behind the lens was camera-shy Arthur. For those familiar with A’dam, we’re on Staalstraat. As Glen can testify, the chocolates from the shop further along the road are rather good.

Who said configuration management isn’t fun?

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Trawling through the web I stumbled upon this wonderful piece entitled The 12 Days of Configuration Management. Apart from being a highly entertaining read, it goes to show that subversion isn’t for everybody and that cvsnt is. Just to be even-handed, this tea-drinker talks about his Experiments with SVN and found svn easier to get up than cvsnt (but then again what else would you expect from a tea drinker!).

www-apps/viewvc-1.0.3.ebuild [bump]

Friday, December 29th, 2006
After a bit of a delay since its release, I have now found a few spare minutes to put an ebuild for viewvc-1.0.3 into my portage repository… and yes, this ebuild is cvsnt-friendly (unlike the gentoo devs who seem to have an unexplained and irrational problem with cvsnt).

You can get this ebuild from the omz13 server via rsync in the usual way:

# rsync -rztp --delete rsync://rsync.omz13.com/local-portage/www-apps/viewvc /usr/local/portage/www-apps

Remember that if you are using the wonderful lighttpd server you will have to tweak your configuration files to get it all working… if you get stuck, drop me a message via my contact page and I’ll email you some sample configuration files.

dev-util/cvsnt-2.5.04.2471-r2.ebuild [bump]

Thursday, October 19th, 2006

I’ve been told (by Sebastian Schuberth) that my ebuild for cvsnt-2.5.04-2471 works on the amd64 platform (when he used x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.1.1).

Accordingly, I’ve marked the ebuild ~amd64, and bumped it to cvsnt-2.5.04.2471-r2.ebuild.

As always, get my ebuilds for cvsnt into your local-portage tree using rsync as follows:

# rsync -rztp --delete rsync://rsync.omz13.com/local-portage/dev-util/cvsnt /usr/local/portage/dev-util

dev-util/cvsnt-2.5.04.2471.ebuild [bump]

Saturday, September 30th, 2006

The 2.5.04 branch of cvsnt is getting nearer to a new stable release :-)

The latest testing release, 2.5.04.2471, has been tagged, and I’ve bumped my ebuild for this release… it seems that problems with previous builds have been solved (or more accurately a workaround has been found).

As always, get my ebuilds for cvsnt using:

# rsync -rztp --delete rsync://rsync.omz13.com/local-portage/dev-util/cvsnt /usr/local/portage/dev-util

www-apps/viewvc-1.0.1.ebuild [bump]

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

I’ve modded the latest the ebuild for viewvc (see gentoo bug #129395) so that it works with cvsnt.

You can get this ebuild from the omz13 server via rsync in the usual way:

# rsync -rztp --delete rsync://rsync.omz13.com/local-portage/www-apps/viewvc /usr/local/portage/www-apps

dev-util/cvsnt-2.5.04.2442-r1.ebuild [hard masked]

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

cvsnt build 2.5.04.2442 is now available, but for some reason it doesn’t compile under portage. I don’t have any time at the moment to try and resolve this issue, but do feel free to help solve this problem!

I have made the ebuild available for this release, but have hard masked it for testing (i.e. M~x86).

As always, get my ebuilds for cvsnt using:

# rsync -rztp --delete rsync://rsync.omz13.com/local-portage/dev-util/cvsnt /usr/local/portage/dev-util
